After filing a complaint with patrol officers, you will receive a case number that identifies the report written on your case. You will need the case number when you call to follow up. Depending on the type of case, you may need to bring in additional information (i.e. video, documents, etc). It's always good to call ahead and speak with a Detective before coming in person.

The Detective Bureau will not call you to follow up on a case report you filed. You must follow up with the Detective Bureau if you wish to go forward with your case.

There are a few ways to go about this. The first is by speaking with the officer's supervisor to discuss the complaint. The second is to call Internal Affairs at (203) 574-6948 and ask for a complaint form to be mailed to you or picking up a form at the police station or city hall.

Or please see our Documents & Forms section of the website to download our complaint form.

You can use the recognition/complaint form to also recognize an officer, or you can write a letter to the Chief's Office or the Waterbury Police Internal Affairs division.

Or please see our Documents & Forms section of the website to download our recognition form.

Please visit the PAL website or call (203) 346-3921 for more information.
