The Waterbury Police Department Forensics Unit provides fingerprinting services to the public. We provide fingerprint services three times during the week.  There are two sessions on Tuesdays – 8:30am to 11:30am and 1:30pm to 3:30pm - and one session on Thursdays – 8:30am to 11:30am. Please do not call the Forensics Unit or the police department for an appointment as one is not necessary.  There are no fingerprinting sessions on holidays.

If you need to be fingerprinted for employment or DCF purposes, please be sure to bring a photo ID and your fingerprint card(s).  The Waterbury Police Department does not provide fingerprint cards for employment or DCF background checks.  You must bring your cards with you from your employer or DCF.  If you are being fingerprinted for a pistol permit application or a pardon application, we will provide the cards to you

Fees for fingerprint services vary.  Waterbury residents and Board of Education applications are $5.00 per card.  Non-Waterbury residents (unless they are BOE applicants) are $10.00 per card.  Pistol permit applications have no charge; however, you must bring with you a money order or certified bank check (no personal checks) in the amount of $19.25 made out to the Department of Public Safety.  Payments for other applications (employment, BOE, pardon, DCF, etc) must be made with cash, money order or certified bank check.  Personal checks, credit cards, and debit cards are NOT accepted.
