Assistant Deputy Chief David Jannetty has served as a police officer for the City of Waterbury since 1992. As the Assistant Deputy Chief (ADC), he oversees the Patrol Division, Community Relations Division, Animal Control Division and the police matrons. ADC Jannetty has held numerous positions within the Department, including patrol officer, detective, detective supervisor, patrol supervisor, juvenile division commander, internal affairs investigator and patrol shift commander. He is an adjunct instructor for the Waterbury Police Academy and is an adjunct professor of criminal justice at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut.
ADC Jannetty graduated in 1999 from Post University, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. In 2002, he graduated from the University of New Haven with a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in management.
ADC Jannetty is a graduate of both the FBI LEEDA Command Institute and the PERF Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP).
David sits on the subcommittee on police training for the State of Connecticut Juvenile Justice Advisory Board and is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He is a police liaison to the Waterbury Crime Stoppers Board of Directors and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Waterbury Police Explorers Post 4141.
