WATERBURY POLICE ANNOUNCE FALL CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY
The Waterbury Police Department will host their Fall 2016 Citizens Police Academy, September 20th – November 8th. This eight week program will be held on Tuesday evenings, from 6-8pm, in the department’s Training Division, located at 240 Bank St, across from Diorio’s restaurant. Participants will receive training in several areas, including overviews on the Waterbury Police Department’s organizational structure and the function of the various police divisions. Participants will also tour the police department, while experiencing various hands on demonstrations. At the end of the eight week session, participants will also have the opportunity to accompany a police officer on a ride along. Applicants must be 18 years old and be a Waterbury resident, business owner, or active in the Waterbury community. Because of the sensitive nature of police work, a background check will be completed on all applicants, which includes a criminal history check, warrant check and driver’s license status check. To receive an application please contact Officer Andrea Carr at (203)574-6962 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Class size is restricted to first 20 participants, so please return your applications as quickly as possible.
