The Waterbury Police Activity League (PAL) is a non profit organization that promotes partnerships between youth, the community and law enforcement through educational, recreational and athletic activities. Waterbury PAL recently began their winter basketball league for boys ages 4 to 17 and girls ages 4 to 14 years old. PAL currently has 71 basketball teams participating in the league. The basketball teams each have volunteer coaches that consist of Waterbury Police Officers, State of Connecticut Parole and Probation officers, State of Connecticut Correction officers, Federal Law enforcement officers, DCF workers, Waterbury School teachers and PAL parents. Waterbury PAL is grateful for all of the coaches that take the time to volunteer to mentor the inner city at risk youth of Waterbury that we service.
Officer Adrian Sanchez and Lt. Lawrence Hunter of the Waterbury Police Department coach a 15-17 year old boys basketball team. The team practices in the evening during the week. The 15-17 year old games take place every Friday night 5:30pm to 930pm at the PAL Recreation Center 64 Division Street.
Waterbury PAL will be taking registrations for spring tball, baseball and softball for boys and girls ages 4 to 14 years old in March. For more information on Waterbury PAL please visit our website at www.waterburypal.org or on Facebook at Waterbury PAL.
