The Waterbury Police Department we will have an Autism Safety and Registry Day on November 11 at the Waterbury Arts Magnet School, 16 South Elm Street, from 9:00 a.m. - noon. The Registry provides first responders with information about people in our community living with autism. The officers use the registry to know what triggers might upset or calm the person with autism.
The registry also shares information about what the person looks like, where they live, and who can be called in an emergency. The police can also use it to help find a person with autism if they are lost or missing.

With the cold weather upon us please DO NOT leave your vehicles running unattended with the keys in the ignition. DO NOT leave your key fob in the vehicle if your vehicle is equipped with a push start feature.
This time of year we receive more stolen vehicle reports from people who are warming their vehicle with the keys in the ignition. This is also the case for people who leave their vehicles running unattended when they are going into a store/gas station.
